All Hallows Eve

By Stacey Lafreniere | October 21, 2017
“Straddling the line between fall and winter, plenty and paucity, life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. It is thought to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts.” (history.com) This table was created with that history

Thankful For Fall

By Stacey Lafreniere | September 29, 2017
After a wild and wonderful summer filled with ivory linens and blush coloured blooms we are so excited to be heading into a new season with a new color palette to explore.  Autumn is my favourite time of year in Victoria. I love when the local produce are apples, pears and squash. I adore the

Reflections on the past year

By Stacey Lafreniere | August 23, 2017
This past weekend my husband Justin and I celebrated our one year anniversary. It had me reflecting on what a journey this past year has been and how much things have changed.  In July of 2016, Justin and I had just moved from Berlin, Germany where we had been living since early 2013. We met

Provençal Wedding Mood Board

By Stacey Lafreniere | August 8, 2017
The weather is finally heating up on Vancouver island; it’s hot, the gardens are growing and I cannot stop gazing at the patch of lavender in my back yard. It has me reminiscing about time I have spent in the South of France - whenever we used to visit there I couldn’t help but dream

Wedding Season Appreciation

By Stacey Lafreniere | July 17, 2017
So here we are, in the middle of our very first wedding season since starting Faire la Fête Linen Rentals, and to be honest, I can’t believe I have even found the time to write up this little post. We have been so busy already! There is no way that we would be part of

My amazing business partner, Betsyn Clark (who also happens to be my Mother) recently celebrated a birthday. Our family and friends decided to throw her a tequila and taco fuelled bash at our family home! Of course we used our Faire la Fête Linens as the base of the table decor - Natural Navy linen,

Lilac and Grey for a Moody Summer Dinner Party

By Stacey Lafreniere | June 29, 2017
One of our most popular linens has to be this True Grey from our Natural Linen collection. It is on trend and works as a modern alternative to a traditional neutral tone like cream or taupe. When we saw Dan from Head Gardener pull out these huge Lilac branches we knew it was the perfect

Modern Romance Mood Board

By Stacey Lafreniere | June 10, 2017
When it comes to wedding decor I tend to lean toward a more elaborate, and sometimes, earthier aesthetic - minimalism is not my strong suit. Recently I’ve been helping a long time friend plan her wedding, which will be taking place in a desert local at a modern residence, and it is making me feel

Dupioni and Velvet

By Stacey Lafreniere | June 4, 2017
We are so excited to announce our new dupioni collection! This raw silk-like fabric is so elegant and has the ability to really elevate the formality of any dinner party or event. Since using the dupioni feels more formal, with this tablescape, we decided to use some living arrangements for the floral and greenery. These

A Blushing Dessert Table

By Stacey Lafreniere | May 28, 2017
We had a beautiful (and delicious) time creating this perfectly pink dessert table - inspired by a huge blooming cherry blossom tree in my Mother’s back yard. With the help of Dan Gibbs from Head Gardener we made the large cherry tree branches the focus of the floral and it all came together from there.
